Variable Pixel Typeface

Inspired by vintage embroidery instruction books, designed to create ornamental borders.

Patches 9x9 is a variable pixel font with two axes (patch and stitch) where each letter transforms into a 9-square border motif that can be seamlessly strung together, with variations for stitch shapes. Patches 18x18 offers an alternative version with 18x18 patterns, expanding the possibilities for intricate, decorative borders. It was also made into an interactive web specimen↗ (which is still being fixed as I learn how to code) where users can generate their own borders by typing in a letter.
